The grant of £30 to the School of Oriental Studies, London, for the year 1931 was provided for in 1931 Estimates and instructions were issued to the Crown Agents in November, 1930, to make the necessary payment early in the present year.

Inadvertently the Crown Agents paid the grant in December of last year and it becomes necessary to ask for a vote of $493 to cover this item.

The amount provided in the current estimates will lapse. (C.S.O. 4204/13).

9.-28, Education :-Other Charges. Expenses of course of study ...$ To provide fees not exceeding £50 to enable Mr. L. G. Morgan, Science Master in the Education Department, to attend an Advance Course in Education at the London Day Training College which is the London University School of Pedagogy in the Faculty of Arts.

The course will enhance the value of Mr. Morgan's services to the Colony.

Mr. Morgan will contribute half the leave for which he is normally eligible and has already spent a vacation in central China in connection with an educational thesis which he will be called upon to submit. (C.S.O. 32 in 3654A/26.)
